Students build probabilistic reasoning about coin flipping outcomes through this activity. They investigate the question, “If you shake and toss 24 coins, is the result likely to be more heads, tails, or balanced?” There are opportunities for students to strengthen their number sense with embedded practice for groupitizing and concepts related to combining negative and positive integers.
